I'll be frank, Bombay Electric is officially Asia's coolest store. Even called "Mumbai's answer to Colette", the multi-brand boutique is packed with all, from elegant evening wear and timeless day wear to quirky sandals and wacky tees. Not only that, Bombay Electric also carries the international likes of Comme des Garcons and United Nude and is favored among Bollywood's elite, including Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee. They sell desirable vintage pieces and hold photography exhibits, too.
Bombay Electric is a smart place to head if you're looking for creations by Indian designers, as they offer Manish Arora and Rajesh Pratap Singh. But what really makes this a must-go shopping destination, is the in-house label Gheebutter. Think party frocks in linen, laid-back tops (mostly linen, too), and clean pants that'll easily look Sartorialist-chic when paired with Converse sneakers. If not for the knock-out fashions and splendid interiors, then you might want to check it out for it's selection of eccentric home accessories.
Bombay Electric is located in 1 Reay House, Best Marg, Colaba, Mumbai (opposite the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower). Please call +91 22 2287 6276 for inquires.
